Book Recommendation: The Circuit

This book The Circuit by Jimenez is about a Mexican family that had a difficult life in America. This family takes care of each other and looks out for one another.

First the book started off when they were in Mexico and how they were poor because they weren’t many jobs there. So the dad decides that they should cross the border to America. They took the train. It was a long journey and finally they arrived at the border. They dug a hole and slithered through the hole. At first the dad told the son to be careful not to get caught by the officer. They lived in migrant camps. They worked in the fields picking strawberry, cotton, and grapes.  They were poor and they didn’t have much, so when they have no meat the mom would go behind a butcher shop and look for meat in the trash can. As they grew up, Francisco and his older brother worked as a janitor and also worked in the fields. This is the kind of family that always looks out for each other.

I recommend this book for other students because it’s a good book and it talks about not giving up and always caring for other people.  And also there are other books that the author wrote.
